Tax Benefits


You can take advantage from various tax benefits.

Did you know that as a caregiver of a senior, various federal and provincial tax benefits could be available to you? The same goes for your loved one. Are you familiar with them?

If you support a person with a physical or mental impairment, you may be able to claim one or more of the following amounts:

For the parent of a child with a disability

For seniors

Caregiver tax credit

This caregiver tax credit (refundable) is divided into three components:

  1. Component 1: Applies to anyone assisting a person 18 years of age or older with a severe and prolonged disability.
  2. Component 2: Applies to anyone supporting a person who is 70 years of age or older, with whom they are living together and who does not have a disability.
