Social service worker training

This training is a good means of encouraging social service worker to:

• maintain the quality of services for caregivers;
• improve interventions with caregivers in Quebec;
• develop promising practices;
• improve their knowledge and skills.

Over 1,600 social service worker received training in 2021–2022.

Training is provided by accredited instructors and is provided either in person or virtually.

Eligible participants include social service worker from non-profit organizations and social economy enterprises, funded by L’Appui pour les proches aidants, that offer services to caregivers. In certain exceptional cases, depending on the type of training and if there are still places available, administrative personnel (director, coordinator, etc.) and volunteers may take the training. In some cases, any remaining places could be made available to other partners.

Our mission is to invest in the ongoing improvement of services and, consequently, in the continued training of social service worker who work with caregivers. The social service worker training program has been offered since 2016.

We are working to foster positive social awareness through the mobilization of caregiving social service worker throughout Quebec. Contact with social service worker is a privileged moment for us to listen to the field and to update our understanding of the issues and challenges faced by Social service worker and caregivers.
