Objective:
This three-hour activity aims to provide the English-speaking seniors of Gatineau and their surrounding areas with information on available services in the region, as well as knowledge on a variety of health and wellness issues.

Information:

Under the theme Sharing information for better health and awareness, the Wellness Event, which is free and open to seniors will feature a presentation on nutrition and kiosks on available services in the Gatineau region. Visitors will have a chance to explore a variety of health and wellness issues and meet with participating seniors’ and caregivers’ groups from the region who will have materials available in both English and French.

1:00: Opening remarks

1:45-2:30 Videoconference: Nutrition: let’s talk about Protein DVD Speaker: Dorothy Moffat, Dietitian.
This videoconference is provided by the Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN) and the Community Health Education Project (CHEP), with facilitator Maureen Ricard, retired nurse.

1:00- 4:00 : Information and kiosks
List of information booths:
Participants are invited to visit the different kiosks to learn about the different services available in the area, gather documentation as well as to ask questions.

We welcome persons with Alzheimer’s disease to our Day Centers (Activity Days) where fun and happiness reign supreme!

Located in the Outaouais area, the Day and Respite Centers allow persons affected by the disease to take part in social activities in a stimulating, warm and secure environment and give respite to caregivers.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the cost include lunch, coffee and snacks.
