The Caregiver Fair is for anyone who provides care to and looks after someone else who is living with an illness, functional limitations or loss of autonomy and with whom the caregiver has an emotional connection. The Fair will feature more than 15 booths set up by organizations that provide services and activities specifically to caregivers (sometimes called natural, informal or family caregivers). In addition, Ms. Blandine Soulmana will give a talk at 3:30 pm on the following topic: Resilience, how to bounce back.
The fair will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 12:30 pm to 5 pm at the Marcel-Giroux community centre (4501 Bannantyne Avenue, Verdun, Quebec H4G 1E3) as part of National Caregiver Week, whose slogan this year is “Because we will all be caregivers.” Admission and parking are free. You can see the promo sign on the Groupe des Aidants du Sud-Ouest website: www.aidantssudouest.org. The organization of this fair has been made possible thanks to the financial support of l’Appui pour les proches aidants d’aînés and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux du Québec.
The Groupe des Aidants du Sud-Ouest has been supporting caregivers of seniors since 1995. It is a community organization whose mission is to foster the improvement of the quality of life of caregivers, prevent their burnout and advocate for their recognition and interests in the community.
