Founded in 1997, Plumeau, chiffon et compagnie is a social economy domestic aid enterprise that is the result of a collaboration between community organizations, the CDEC and the area’s three CLSCs.

Our clientele is comprised of seniors 65 and over, people with a functional limitation who are referred by their CLSC and the general public.

  • We serve the areas of Plateau Mont-Royal, Mile-End, Ville-Marie, Centre-Sud, Centre-Ville, Westmount, Vieux-Montréal, Outremont. We also serve the areas of Côte-des-Neiges, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Ville Mont-Royal and Montréal-Ouest through La Grande Vadrouille.

    Respite is provided during the day, but it is also possible to receive services in the evening.

    The respite project for caregivers of seniors primarily helps to:
    • Provide a moment of respite to offset the extra stress and fatigue that result from the specific needs of a senior experiencing loss of autonomy;
    • Provide intellectual stimulation to the senior.

  • The cost varies based on the type of work. For household maintenance, the hourly rate is determined based on family income.

    Here are some examples of the services available:
    -Regular housekeeping;
    -Laundry and ironing;
    -Shopping and accompaniment;
    -Spring cleaning;
    -Odd jobs.

    You can receive the services on the schedule of your choosing: weekly, every two weeks or every four weeks. You can also choose to have services “on request.” Every service is for a minimum of three consecutive hours and varies based on the size of the apartment.
