INCA Québec

Introduction

INCA Québec is a not-for-profit organization that contributes to enhancing the quality of life people who are blind or partially sighted by ensuring that they have access to community support.

Services are available for people with a vision impairment, but there is also a support group for caregivers of a person with vision loss.

It is not necessary to be legally blind to access the services and no prescription is required.

    Please note that the following services are for people who are blind or have vision loss:
    -Meetings or telephone discussions: information on various topics related to the person receiving care and their vision loss may be addressed.
    -Web resources: Production of books in alternative media (production of audio books, periodicals delivered to the home free of charge, online download available)
    -Adapted technologies (distance or online training using Windows, iPhone, Skype, Excel, etc., and remote technical troubleshooting for clients taking part in the trainings).

    Services specifically for caregivers:
    -Through funding from l'Appui pour les proches aidants Montréal, INCA Québec is providing the program LES YEUX DU CŒUR.
    This program involves small group meetings over six weeks at INCA Québec and by teleconference. This program is designed to give caregivers, through discussions and interventions by resource people, the necessary tools to tackle the challenges of their role and manage the stress and emotions that result from this role.
