The primary mission of SARPAD is to foster the independent living of seniors by providing them with services to meet their needs.
SARPAD also supports caregivers of seniors by providing them with information, referrals and individual follow-up by telephone.

    -Friendship calls: Weekly phone calls that last approximately one hour to talk and maintain connections with the person receiving care.
    -Friendship visits: friendly visits: the friendly visits usually take place once a week. This type of service takes about three hours.
    -Individual support: Listening, direction and guidance of caregivers to the resources and services best suited to their needs through individual meetings and personalized follow-up.

  • For low-income people or those experiencing loss of autonomy.

  • Additional information:
    -Accompaniment to medical appointments (WITHOUT transportation): the volunteers will pick up the recipients at their home, accompany them throughout the entire medical appointment and then take them back home.

    -Medical transportation (paid service – costs varies based on the trip): Transportation by car for medical transportation is reserved for low-income people with reduced mobility. This type of service is estimated at a maximum of three hours.

    -Group grocery shopping ($7): a taxi or a volunteer driver drives seniors to and from their home to the Wilderton shopping centre (return trip every other Wednesday). They may be assisted by family or social workers as needed.

    -Shopping accompaniment: available on a regular basis for essential needs, as well as on request. This type of service generally takes place once a week for approximately three hours on average. Transportation at the recipient’s expense.

Additional information

To benefit from SARPAD services, you must be 55 years or over, live at home and live in the area served by the centre.
