Additional information

Journées de ressourcement pour les proches aidants et les personnes atteintes (Retreat days for caregivers and people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias)

By providing personalized services, socializing days and stimulating activities to people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, caregivers can release some major stress by having the opportunity to do what they like for the day. This freedom gives caregivers some much-needed respite, in full confidence. They can access various services offered by the Alzheimer’s Society, work, relax, do personal activities, etc. A qualified team comprised of a special educator and co-facilitator is on site to ensure that the person receiving care has a pleasant and safe day.

The goal of the project is to give people with early to moderate Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias the opportunity to participate in stimulating and personalized sessions. Ultimately, these sessions help them maintain their cognitive, social and physical abilities in a safe environment, while giving the caregiver some respite.
