This interactive play provides an opportunity to take a step back with people who are in the same situation: we talk, we find solutions, we de-escalate situations, we even laugh at things that aren't funny … it's a real lifesaver for some. The production also raises the awareness of the general public about taking care of our caregivers who are cornerstones of our society. A valuable, dedicated workforce that is often left to itself and merits us taking some time for it.
Smaller family units, family support that falls well short of needs. The big question today is not “Will I be a caregiver some day?”, but rather “When will I become a caregiver?” This responsibility very often arrives unexpectedly, without time for preparation, and leaves people who must face this new reality with a mountain of administrative, human and social challenges ahead of them. Moreover, with life expectancy steadily increasing, a caregiver’s journey can last from a few years to an entire lifetime!
The Centre d’action bénévole le Virage is offering you the opportunity to participate in the play, which will be performed on November 25, 2019 in Havre St-Pierre, November 26, 2019 in Sept-Îles and November 27, 2019 in Port-Cartier. Admission is $5. For more information, please contact Kathleen Côté at: 418-444-2228.
“Pas de vacances pour les anges”provides some time to ask the question “So, how are YOU doing?” and to really hear the answer.
