L’Appui Abitibi-Témiscamingue — We don't forget each other
For this fourth stop, we head in Abitibi-Témiscamingue to go to meet the Rouyn-Noranda Alzheimer Society which has offered the services of a group online support and training for caregivers to people in its region.
In late January, the Society has created, even before the pandemic had been officially announced, a private support group on Facebook. The goal? Help caregivers who are unable to go to the organization's premises to remain equipped and informed, in addition to offering them advice and support regarding their loved one's illness.
Through its trainings, the documentation published regularly, the live videos and support a few clicks away, this group could not have come at a better moment when it comes to the COVID-19 crisis. To learn more, we invite you to watch the presentation video (in French only) available on their Facebook page.
Always online, the group is open to welcoming you. Simply call 819 764-3554 or send an email to [email protected] and mention that you want to be informed about the private online support group on Facebook.
Where are we going next?
See you in a week to discover the next destination of the virtual tour! Until then, if you need to talk, do not hesitate to contact the Caregiver Support. We remind you that our tailored active listening service is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm and offers you bespoke active listening service.
