The Carrefour des femmes de Saint-Léonard is a place to connect that fosters the involvement and solidarity of women. It focuses on personal growth and social change. Many women must look after their spouse or parents experiencing loss of autonomy. To combat the distress that many caregivers of seniors experience, we implemented the project “Être aidante est-ce naturel?” [Is it natural to be a caregiver?], which provides specific services for caregivers.

The Family Caregiver Support Team at the YWCA Montreal provides professional support services tailored to the needs of caregivers. Various services are available: psychosocial follow-up (therapeutic relationship, listening, referral), art therapy, self-help and support groups, talks, themed workshops and wellness activities. Legal information and respite services (in collaboration with other organizations) are also available.
